Bio

I am currently a graduate student pursing an MA in secondary education. I am married to a VERY wonderful and VERY foreign man that I am crazy in love with. I work at an art gallery in Manhattan while I work towards my MA in Ed. and although I've learned A LOT from this job, I know it (or any other gallery) isn't the place for me. I love animals and nature. I love history and art and writing and travel and my and my husband's greatest wish is to return to Italy one day to live and work (we're working on that!). Another dream of mine is to one day begin work towards a doctorate in history and teach at university level. I like school and value education. I also value friends, but rarely have time to see them these days. I'm trying to get into a decent and reliable exercise routine as well, but a busy schedule and general fatigue often prevent that. I believe very strongly in a fair, reasonable and all-forgiving/loving God, but I wouldn't call myself "religious" by any stretch of the imagination. I realized just recently that I am much more outgoing and extroverted than I ever thought I was and that to be happy, I will need to be doing something for a living that lets me be social, move around and be creative... sitting at a desk shuffling papers is NOT for me. I also realized over the last few years that I'm much more of an optimist than I ever thought I was and that I am also extremely proactive when it comes to getting things done (though I'm never 'perky'). And that is me, in a nutshell.

This journal was started in 2003, during the LiveJournal Craze of 2003 (when everybody had one and it was the thing to do -- write in them, read other people's, etc.) I later used it to document my travels to Italy in 2004... sorta like a blog for friends while I was away to keep in touch. Then I didn't touch the journal for a VERY long time. In late 2007, I revisited those entries and realized just how enjoyable it WAS to keep a journal. I've decided to continue writing, but for my eyes only... I can never seem to keep a handwritten journal, but I no longer feel comfortable writing entries for others to see, for the most part.
